These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cronheart ("Cronheart", "we", "us", "our") — a hosted service that monitors scheduled jobs (cron, systemd timers, framework schedulers) and alerts you when they run late, fail, or stop reporting. By creating an account or sending a heartbeat ping to a monitor URL we issued you, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who provides the service
Cronheart is operated by Aliaksandr Palazok ("the Provider"), an individual operating from the Republic of Poland. Contact: support@cronheart.com. The Provider's full residential address is held on file with Polish tax and consumer-protection authorities and is available to customers upon request to the contact address above.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the email address you provided is one you control.
If you use Cronheart on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Account & security
You are responsible for the credentials of your account and for any activity that occurs under it. Each monitor has a UUID embedded in its ping URL — that UUID is the only authentication required to send heartbeats, so anyone who obtains it can mark the monitor as up. Treat monitor URLs with the same care as API keys: never paste them into public issue trackers, screenshots, or shared chats.
Notify us immediately at support@cronheart.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account or to a specific monitor URL. You can rotate any monitor's URL from the dashboard.
4. Subscription, billing & refunds
Cronheart is offered on a Free plan and three paid monthly subscription tiers (Starter, Growth, Scale) with the limits and prices listed on /pricing.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel them through the Billing page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we keep only the last four digits and the Stripe customer / subscription identifiers needed to reconcile billing.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid period. We do not pro-rate or refund partial months. After the period ends your account reverts to the Free tier; existing monitors keep working within Free-tier limits.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries automatically. Your subscription enters a past due state — features that exceed the Free tier may be temporarily restricted until payment succeeds. After Stripe's retry window expires, the subscription is cancelled and the account reverts to Free.
- Tax (VAT, sales tax, GST) is calculated by Stripe based on the customer's jurisdiction and shown at checkout. Where Cronheart is sold under Stripe's "Managed Payments" arrangement, Stripe is the seller of record for tax purposes.
5. Acceptable use
You may use Cronheart only to monitor systems you own or operate, or that you have explicit permission to monitor. You agree NOT to:
- Use Cronheart to relay or trigger denial-of-service traffic against third parties (heartbeat URLs are not a generic webhook target).
- Attempt to bypass Free-tier limits by automating account creation, fake email addresses, or shared accounts across distinct organisations.
- Use Cronheart to monitor unlawful activity, content that infringes intellectual property, or systems whose owner has not authorised you.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to penetrate Cronheart's infrastructure outside of a coordinated security disclosure (see §11).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Where the violation involves third-party harm we may also notify the affected party and cooperate with law-enforcement requests valid in our jurisdiction.
6. Service availability
Cronheart is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not currently offer a contractual uptime SLA on any plan. We monitor our own infrastructure, push status updates when we know about outages, and design the alerting pipeline so that a Cronheart outage does not turn a healthy job into a false-fail (alerts are never sent for monitors whose data we cannot trust).
We may perform planned maintenance with advance notice, and unplanned maintenance for security or stability without notice. Where reasonable we schedule maintenance to minimise impact on alert delivery.
7. Intellectual property
All Cronheart software, branding, copy, and infrastructure are owned by the Provider or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You retain ownership of the metadata you submit (monitor names, schedules, channel configurations) — we hold a non-exclusive licence to process it solely to deliver the service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Cronheart is provided "as is", without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- The Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use Cronheart.
- The Provider's total aggregate liability for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms is capped at the total fees you paid to Cronheart in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50 — whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
9. Your responsibilities
You agree to defend and indemnify the Provider against third-party claims arising from (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your unlawful or unauthorised use of Cronheart, or (c) your infringement of any third party's rights through your use of Cronheart.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. Closing the account cancels any active subscription immediately at the end of the current paid period.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. After termination we delete account data within 30 days, except records we are required to retain (billing history, security logs) under applicable law.
11. Security disclosure
If you discover a security issue, please email support@cronheart.com with details before public disclosure. We will acknowledge within 72 hours, work in good faith on a fix, and credit researchers who follow coordinated disclosure.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally — to reflect new features, regulatory changes, or pricing structure. Material changes will be announced by email to the address registered on your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Cronheart after a change has taken effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith negotiation will be referred to the competent courts of the Provider's place of residence in Poland. Consumers in the European Union retain access to the mandatory protections of their country of residence, including the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Contact
Questions, complaints, or formal notices under these Terms should be sent to support@cronheart.com.
